Elle se parcourt g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00e0 scooter mais cela va aussi bien (m\u00eame mieux !) \u00e0 v\u00e9lo ! La boucle compl\u00e8te est longue d&rsquo;environ 400 km. Superbe randonn\u00e9e (maintenant, on dit \u00ab\u00a0road trip\u00a0\u00bb !) qui offre des paysages karstiques remarquables, des grottes nombreuses, des rivi\u00e8res souterraines, des for\u00eats encore bien pr\u00e9sentes&#8230; Une d\u00e9couverte incroyable !<\/em> <em>Nous l&rsquo;avons parcourue tranquillement en sept jours !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Nombreux scooters (trop ?). Ce n&rsquo;est pas la boucle d&rsquo;Ha Giang au Viet Nam mais il y en a vraiment beaucoup ! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Article un peu long, photos bien nombreuses mais difficile de parler bri\u00e8vement d&rsquo;un tel endroit !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-link-color has-larger-font-size wp-elements-e7613a636e9600385372f9386cbc36cd\" style=\"color:#0173a3\"><strong>Jour 1 : De Thakhek \u00e0 Mahaxai<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous suivons la route qui conduit \u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re vietnamienne et elle nous gratifie d&rsquo;un nombre impressionnant de camions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au bout d&rsquo;une bonne piste de 9 km, nous atteignons les grottes. Nous faisons l&rsquo;impasse sur la Bouddha cave, pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant la Paseum cave. Malheureusement, celle-ci est ferm\u00e9e pour travaux. Qu&rsquo;\u00e0 cela ne tienne ! Nous contournons la barri\u00e8re avec la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction du gar\u00e7on charg\u00e9 d&rsquo;en interdire l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s. Nous embarquons avec nous Coralie et Julien, deux sympathiques bretons (pl\u00e9onasme) rencontr\u00e9s sur la piste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 54%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Et nous voici dans un site enchanteur au bord d&rsquo;un petit lac. Nous p\u00e9n\u00e9trons dans la grotte, c&rsquo;est tr\u00e8s beau. Le terme \u00ab&nbsp;karst&nbsp;\u00bb est originaire de la r\u00e9gion&nbsp;du&nbsp;plateau du Karst, haut-plateau&nbsp;calcaire situ\u00e9 entre l&rsquo;Italie, la&nbsp;Slov\u00e9nie&nbsp;et la&nbsp;Croatie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9pass\u00e9 le barrage, franchi le pont, nous attaquons la difficult\u00e9 de la journ\u00e9e. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 56%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Une mont\u00e9e de 5 km pour 360 m de d\u00e9nivel\u00e9 positif soit une pente moyenne de 7 %. Certains passages avoisinent voire d\u00e9passent quand m\u00eame les 10 % !!! Le p\u00e9rim\u00e8tre submerg\u00e9 par le lac comprenait quelques terres fertiles, mais en grande partie des terres agricoles de mauvaise qualit\u00e9 et de for\u00eats d\u00e9grad\u00e9es, de quelques zones humides, ainsi que de quelques zones de for\u00eats tropicales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce complexe, en sus du lac, se compose d&rsquo;un barrage de 48&nbsp;m de haut et de 325&nbsp;m de long et d&rsquo;une centrale \u00e9lectrique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:61% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"575\" src=\"https:\/\/2l-a-velo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/P1028665-1024x575.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12807 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/2l-a-velo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/P1028665-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/2l-a-velo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/P1028665-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/2l-a-velo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/P1028665-768x431.jpg 768w, https:\/\/2l-a-velo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/P1028665-1536x862.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/2l-a-velo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/P1028665-2048x1149.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/2l-a-velo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/P1028665-900x505.jpg 900w, https:\/\/2l-a-velo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/P1028665-1280x718.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>La route jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 Thalang, contrairement \u00e0 ce que l&rsquo;on pensait, ne longe pas le lac, nous l&rsquo;apercevons de temps en temps. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette route est une alternance de mont\u00e9es et descentes un peu \u00ab\u00a0casse-pattes\u00a0\u00bb !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au fait, nous nous sommes \u00ab\u00a0perdus\u00a0\u00bb. Laure a d\u00e9pass\u00e9 Lionel sans voir son v\u00e9lo et a fil\u00e9 vers la guesthouse. Pendant ce temps, Lionel attendait, attendait sur le bord de la route et&#8230; a m\u00eame fait demi-tour sur 4 km !!! Il a fini par gagner lui aussi, inquiet malgr\u00e9 tout, la guesthouse ! Il faut dire que nous voyageons sans carte de t\u00e9l\u00e9phone locale donc nous ne pouvons pas nous contacter !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beaucoup de Fran\u00e7ais ici ! Des voyageurs \u00e0 scooter en majorit\u00e9. Mais certains circulent quand m\u00eame \u00e0 v\u00e9lo : une petite famille avec trois enfants, des couples \u00e0 v\u00e9lo&#8230; Une belle rencontre aussi avec un couple \u00ab\u00a0d&rsquo;infirmiers voyageurs\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 scooter extr\u00eamement sympathiques !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et ce soir, une belle guesthouse, \u00e7a fait du bien ! C&rsquo;est l\u00e0 que commence le tron\u00e7on en travaux. Nous grimpons un escalier m\u00e9tallique bord\u00e9 de concr\u00e9tions qui se prolongent jusqu&rsquo;au sommet de la voute.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Impressionnante cette grotte ! 7,5 km de long, 100 m de haut et 90 m de large dans la chambre sup\u00e9rieure !!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Retour dans l&#8217;embarcation, toujours en se mouillant les pieds, et nous voici sur un deuxi\u00e8me site.
