Il faut savoir que le centre du village est reconnu comme \u00ab\u00a0Bien culturel suisse d&rsquo;importance nationale\u00a0\u00bb. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous nous installons au camping de Spl\u00fcgen. Un tr\u00e8s beau camping, tr\u00e8s pratique pour des campeurs. Une salle avec prises \u00e9lectriques o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on peut \u00eatre tranquille, une autre salle avec plaques de cuisson, eau, r\u00e9frig\u00e9rateur, tables et chaises. Vous remarquerez que nous avons deux fauteuils et une petite table. Une mont\u00e9e extr\u00eamement agr\u00e9able ! <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Au col, peu de monde ! Dommage pour un si joli col ! Le col a \u00e9t\u00e9 parcouru par les routes historiques. La route romaine et m\u00e9di\u00e9vale, les routes commerciales de 1768 et 1820 sont class\u00e9s comme&nbsp;\u00ab\u00a0Bien culturel suisse d&rsquo;importance nationale<sup>\u00ab\u00a0<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un tunnel routier, le&nbsp;tunnel du San Bernardino, ouvert en 1967, a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit sous le col.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Si la mont\u00e9e est un vrai bonheur, la descente jusqu&rsquo;au village de San Bernardino est un enchantement. Ce petit lieu de vill\u00e9giature offre de nombreuses possibilit\u00e9s de randonn\u00e9es et de sports d\u2019hiver.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>La descente continue, toujours sans circulation, et nous nous r\u00e9galons tant au niveau du p\u00e9dalage que  des photos. Le peuplement s&rsquo;est intensifi\u00e9 durant l&rsquo;\u00e2ge du fer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De 1821 \u00e0 1881, Locarno a \u00e9t\u00e9, avec&nbsp;Lugano&nbsp;et&nbsp;Bellinzone, la capitale tournante du canton du Tessin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La ville de Locarno est \u00e9galement c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pour son \u00ab&nbsp;Pacte de Locarno&nbsp;\u00bb entre la&nbsp;France&nbsp;et l&rsquo;Allemagne. En 1919, suite \u00e0 la&nbsp;Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale, l&rsquo;Allemagne est contrainte, lors du&nbsp;trait\u00e9 de Versailles,&nbsp;de payer des r\u00e9parations \u00e0 la France que l&rsquo;Allemagne a des difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 honorer. En 1925, les ministres des affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res fran\u00e7ais et allemand,&nbsp;Aristide Briand&nbsp;et&nbsp;Gustav Stresemann. d\u00e9cident, \u00e0 Locarno, d&rsquo;un am\u00e9nagement des r\u00e9parations, c&rsquo;est le pacte de Locarno.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sous la conduite de Laure, nous gagnons le village de Golino. L\u00e0, nous apercevons tout l\u00e0-haut Intagna, autre village o\u00f9 nous devons passer. D\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 la&nbsp;Sainte Vierge, il fut construit en 1494, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 il y aurait eu un miracle&nbsp;: une petite&nbsp;fresque&nbsp;de la&nbsp;<em>Madonna Lactans<\/em>&nbsp;fut frapp\u00e9e par une pierre et se serait mise \u00e0 saigner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus d&rsquo;un si\u00e8cle apr\u00e8s le miracle, en 1627, l&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00eaque de Novara&nbsp;Carlo Bascap\u00e9 inaugura le premier sanctuaire, b\u00e2ti gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La basilique d&rsquo;aujourd&rsquo;hui en&nbsp;architecture n\u00e9o-byzantine&nbsp;a \u00e9t\u00e9 inaugur\u00e9e le&nbsp;5 ao\u00fbt 1958. Dessin\u00e9e par l&rsquo;architecte Edoardo Collamarini, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite enti\u00e8rement par des ma\u00e7ons et artisans locaux. Elle fut \u00e9lev\u00e9e au rang de&nbsp;basilique mineure&nbsp;par le pape&nbsp;Pie XII&nbsp;en 1958.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Un faux-plat montant avec le vent, de face bien s\u00fbr, nous emm\u00e8ne \u00e0 Santa Maria Maggiore. Encore un tr\u00e8s beau village, touristique qui a la particularit\u00e9 d&rsquo;accueillir tous les ans une rencontre de&#8230; ramoneurs ! La circulation serait tout \u00e0 fait g\u00e9rable (nous sommes samedi et il n&rsquo;y a pas de camions) mais&#8230; car il y a un MAIS ! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les travaux dans les galeries et tunnels. Nous ne pouvons circuler que sur une voie et le temps de passage dans le sens de la mont\u00e9e (le n\u00f4tre) est trop court ! Nous nous retrouvons donc avec des voitures derri\u00e8re nous qui, ne pouvant nous doubler vu l&rsquo;\u00e9troitesse de la voie, klaxonnent, et quelquefois des voitures face \u00e0 nous ! Les agriculteurs sont huit dont sept \u00e9l\u00e8vent des animaux pour la production de lait. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>D&rsquo;ailleurs, le village poss\u00e8de une laiterie qui produit d&rsquo;excellents yaourts (nous avons go\u00fbt\u00e9 et aim\u00e9)! Comble de bonheur, la g\u00e9rante de l&rsquo;h\u00f4tel nous a indiqu\u00e9 une petite route qui, non seulement nous \u00e9vite une interminable galerie, mais nous fait profiter de splendides paysages !<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Les trois derniers kilom\u00e8tres empruntent la grande route mais la circulation est raisonnable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Col du Simplon, 2005 m !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-luminous-vivid-amber-to-luminous-vivid-orange-gradient-background has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p> La route a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite entre&nbsp;1801&nbsp;et&nbsp;1805&nbsp;par l&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieur&nbsp;Nicolas C\u00e9ard, sur l&rsquo;ordre de&nbsp;Napol\u00e9on Bonaparte&nbsp;qui voulait ouvrir un passage pour son&nbsp;artillerie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C&rsquo;est aussi Napol\u00e9on qui, le&nbsp;21&nbsp;f\u00e9vrier&nbsp;1801 d\u00e9cida la cr\u00e9ation d&rsquo;un hospice en tout point semblable \u00e0 celui du&nbsp;col du Grand-Saint-Bernard, parce qu&rsquo;il avait beaucoup appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 l&rsquo;utilit\u00e9 de celui-ci. Mais \u00e0 la chute de Napol\u00e9on, seul le premier \u00e9tage avait \u00e9t\u00e9 construit. La b\u00e2tisse resta en l&rsquo;\u00e9tat jusqu&rsquo;au milieu des&nbsp;ann\u00e9es 1820&nbsp;qui virent la reprise des travaux et leur ach\u00e8vement en&nbsp;1831.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au d\u00e9but du XX\u00e8me&nbsp;si\u00e8cle, l&rsquo;apparition de l&rsquo;automobile et le percement du&nbsp;tunnel ferroviaire du Simplon&nbsp;transform\u00e8rent radicalement la fonction traditionnelle de l&rsquo;hospice qui \u00e9tait de servir de refuge aux voyageurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aujourd&rsquo;hui, apr\u00e8s de consid\u00e9rables transformations et r\u00e9novations, l&rsquo;hospice cherche \u00e0 conserver sa dimension religieuse et \u00e0 ne pas se laisser submerger par son succ\u00e8s touristique.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-luminous-vivid-amber-to-luminous-vivid-orange-gradient-background has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>La statue de l&rsquo;aigle qui est au col n&rsquo;a rien \u00e0 voir avec Napol\u00e9on, ce n&rsquo;est pas l&rsquo;aigle imp\u00e9rial.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette sculpture de 9 m\u00e8tres de haut est due \u00e0 l&rsquo;architecte suisse Erwin Friedrich Baumann.
