C&rsquo;est le point de d\u00e9part de la&nbsp;voie Domitienne&nbsp;et de la&nbsp;<em>voie des Alpes<\/em>, mais aussi une halte d&rsquo;une variante de la&nbsp;<em>via Francigena<\/em>. Vers la fin de la premi\u00e8re moiti\u00e9 du&nbsp;XI\u00e8me&nbsp;si\u00e8cle, la cit\u00e9 et la vall\u00e9e entrent en partie sous la domination des&nbsp;comtes de Savoie.&nbsp;Le&nbsp;ch\u00e2teau&nbsp;de Susa (ou ch\u00e2teau de la comtesse Ad\u00e9la\u00efde) devient l&rsquo;un des centres du pouvoir de la principaut\u00e9. Il est en forme de grand trap\u00e8ze&nbsp;: deux petits c\u00f4t\u00e9s de 90&nbsp;et 60&nbsp;m&nbsp;et deux grands de 260&nbsp;m.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Bardonecchia est le point de d\u00e9part c\u00f4t\u00e9 italien du tunnel du Fr\u00e9jus qui aboutit \u00e0 Modane en France. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-luminous-vivid-amber-to-luminous-vivid-orange-gradient-background has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>C&rsquo;est Joseph Fran\u00e7ois Medail, un commissionnaire en douanes sarde, qui propose au roi&nbsp;Charles-Albert de Sardaigne&nbsp;un tunnel entre&nbsp;Modane&nbsp;et&nbsp;Bardonnecchia. Mais ce n\u2019est que 20&nbsp;ans plus tard, en 1857, que le successeur de Charles-Albert, le roi&nbsp;Victor Emmanuel II de Savoie, ordonne le d\u00e9but des travaux, dont l&rsquo;\u00e9tude pr\u00e9liminaire a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e par l&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieur belge&nbsp;Henri Maus.  Les travaux seront alors conduits par l&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieur savoyard&nbsp;Germain Sommeiller. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le tunnel, dont la longueur \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine \u00e9tait de 12,234 km (il mesure actuellement 13,688 km) sera inaugur\u00e9 en 1871.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Bardonecchia appartient \u00e0 la zone traditionnellement occitane de la&nbsp;vall\u00e9e de Suse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elle comporte \u00e9galement une station de sports d&rsquo;hiver. La ville haute est tr\u00e8s plaisante d&rsquo;autant qu&rsquo;\u00e0 cette \u00e9poque, les touristes se font plus rares.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-luminous-vivid-amber-to-luminous-vivid-orange-gradient-background has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size\"><strong><em> Brian\u00e7on<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;implantation humaine est certaine \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge du bronze et \u00e0 celui du fer. Les diff\u00e9rentes peuplades tirent leurs ressources de l\u2019agriculture et des \u00e9changes.<br>Aux premiers temps de la romanisation, Brigantio semble \u00eatre implant\u00e9e sur le secteur de l\u2019actuel Champ de Mars. Le Brian\u00e7onnais demeure sous la domination romaine jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la chute de l\u2019Empire romain au 5<sup>e<\/sup>&nbsp;si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au Moyen-Age, Brian\u00e7on se trouve dans le Dauphin\u00e9. Cette province fut cr\u00e9\u00e9e autour d\u2019Albon, pr\u00e8s de Vienne en Is\u00e8re, sous l\u2019autorit\u00e9 d\u2019une riche famille dont les membres prirent le nom de Dauphins au d\u00e9but du 13<sup>e&nbsp;<\/sup>si\u00e8cle.<br>&nbsp;En 1349, Humbert II, le dernier dauphin c\u00e8de son territoire au roi de France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En d\u00e9cembre 1624, un incendie d\u00e9truit les quatre cinqui\u00e8mes de la ville. Les maisons tout juste reconstruites sont \u00e0 nouveau r\u00e9duites en cendres en janvier 1692.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vauban arrive \u00e0 Brian\u00e7on \u00e0 l\u2019automne 1692 \u00e0 la suite d\u2019une brutale attaque du duc de Savoie sur les Alpes. Il trouve le site difficile \u00e0 am\u00e9nager car il est entour\u00e9 de hauteurs dominantes. Les 21 et 22 novembre 1692, il \u00e9tablit son projet. Il demande la r\u00e9alisation de bastions et de diverses d\u00e9fenses et demande \u00e9galement divers am\u00e9nagements. L\u2019implantation de l\u2019usine de la Schappe en 1842, la construction de nouvelles casernes \u00e0 partir de 1882 et l\u2019arriv\u00e9e du train en 1884 conduisent au d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019un nouveau quartier pr\u00e8s de la Durance. L\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre voit des changements sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent. Les activit\u00e9s traditionnelles agricoles c\u00e8dent le pas au tourisme. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Au menu, aujourd&rsquo;hui, le col d&rsquo;Izoard. Tr\u00e8s beau col mais aux pentes s\u00e9v\u00e8res. Ce matin, la temp\u00e9rature est bien basse et le vent bien fort. Nous traversons le typique village du Laus et la partie raide commence. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais la route est belle, les cyclistes disposent d&rsquo;une bande cyclable, le vent nous pousse un peu (si, si !), le soleil brille g\u00e9n\u00e9reusement et les paysages sont superbes, que demander de plus !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Nous sommes doubl\u00e9s par une dame \u00e0 v\u00e9lo \u00e9lectrique. Elle monte vite, tr\u00e8s vite, impressionnant ! Le vent est extr\u00eamement violent et du coup, il fait bien froid ! C&rsquo;est m\u00eame difficile voire impossible de rester face au vent. La route a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite en&nbsp;1893-1897. Des pitons rocheux de couleur ocre plant\u00e9s sur des pentes caillouteuses qui conf\u00e8rent \u00e0 cet endroit tr\u00e8s min\u00e9ral un aspect lunaire ! Superbe !<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais prudence, toujours ce vent qui a tendance \u00e0 nous balader d&rsquo;un bord \u00e0 l&rsquo;autre de la route !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La descente se poursuit sur des pentes tr\u00e8s soutenues. A l&rsquo;aller, nous l&rsquo;avions grimp\u00e9 sur le versant Barcelonnette. Voyant que le service tra\u00eenait en longueur (et c&rsquo;est un doux euph\u00e9misme), Laure part aux nouvelles et se fait vertement tancer par la patronne d\u00e9bord\u00e9e par le service. Il n&rsquo;a qu&rsquo;un bras et monte au sommet des cols sans assistance \u00e9lectrique (Comme quoi) !  <strong>Chapeau !<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous sommes bien l\u00e0-haut mais il faut quand m\u00eame redescendre. Pas extraordinaire ce camping !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Derni\u00e8re \u00e9tape aujourd&rsquo;hui ! Tr\u00e8s froid ce matin, il est temps de rentrer !
