Finalement et contrairement \u00e0 l\u2019aller, la douane commune se situe non pas \u00e0 Tambo mais au paso Chungara \u00e0 4680 m. Mais \u00e0 2 km du sommet, ils sont oblig\u00e9s de s\u2019arr\u00eater et de faire la queue. Nous roulons alors \u00e0 gauche et gagnons la douane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et l\u00e0, c\u2019est tout une histoire pour entrer au Chili&nbsp;! En comptant les deux tampons du passeport, nous en avons cumul\u00e9s, sur des documents divers, pas moins de huit dont un sur une fiche d\u2019identit\u00e9 consacr\u00e9e aux v\u00e9los&nbsp;!!! Nos sacoches sont aussi pass\u00e9es au scanner dans le domaine des fruits, l\u00e9gumes et autres produits frais qu\u2019il est interdit d\u2019introduire au Chili&nbsp;!!!!!!! Une descente, d\u00e9j\u00e0 emprunt\u00e9e dans l\u2019autre sens il y a cinq jours, nous conduit au lago Chungara dans le parc de Lauca. Magnifique !<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-luminous-vivid-amber-to-luminous-vivid-orange-gradient-background has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Le&nbsp;lac Chungar\u00e1&nbsp;poss\u00e8de une superficie de 21,5&nbsp;km<sup>2<\/sup>&nbsp;et une profondeur maximum de 33&nbsp;m. Les oiseaux et les mammif\u00e8res sont nombreux et facile \u00e0 observer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il existe plus d&rsquo;une soixantaine d&rsquo;esp\u00e8ces d&rsquo;oiseaux dans ce parc dont&nbsp;le&nbsp;nandou&nbsp;ou suri (esp\u00e8ce de petite autruche), le&nbsp;flamant du Chili, la&nbsp;mouette des Andes&#8230; En ce qui concerne les mammif\u00e8res on trouve les &nbsp;vigognes,&nbsp;lamas,&nbsp;alpagas&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Magnifiques ces bords du lac avec les reflets des volcans Panaricota et Pomerape. Une bien belle route dont une partie est d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e0 l\u2019ombre car il se fait tard (16 h&nbsp;!). Ce c\u00f4t\u00e9 para\u00eet plus froid que le versant bolivien. Et dans ce village comme ailleurs depuis quelques temps, pas de wifi&nbsp;!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 57%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Putre a une population de 2100 habitants environ. Ils travaillent pour l&rsquo;environnement et plus particuli\u00e8rement la m\u00e9t\u00e9o et vivent \u00e0 Santiago. Mais Victor est un amoureux de la montagne. Son r\u00eave serait de participer \u00e0 l&rsquo;ultratrail du Mont Blanc. Nous passons un bon moment \u00e0 \u00e9changer en m\u00e9langeant l&rsquo;espagnol et l&rsquo;anglais. Surprise ! En fait, c&rsquo;est Victor qui nous court apr\u00e8s pour nous offrir une tablette de chocolat. Une gentille attention !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour rejoindre la ruta 11, la route monte tr\u00e8s fort, entre 8 % et 12 % ! La route est tranquille, seuls quelques camions nous croisent ou nous doublent.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce sont les montagnes russes jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 Zapahuira. Nous y pique-niquons et  achetons de l&rsquo;eau pour le bivouac de ce soir car sur cette route il n&rsquo;y a pas grand chose, voire rien, pour s&rsquo;h\u00e9berger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 52%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Maintenant, nous p\u00e9dalons dans un paysage de dunes tr\u00e8s vallonn\u00e9. Nous traversons la quebrada de Cardones : des dunes de sable, et encore des dunes de sable ! Ah si,  un salar o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on exploite le borax et une centrale solaire. Nous nous installons un peu en retrait de la route dans une esp\u00e8ce de carri\u00e8re de cailloux. C&rsquo;est un endroit tranquille mais que de poussi\u00e8re ! <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Il fait beaucoup plus doux ici, car nous ne sommes plus qu&rsquo;\u00e0 1640 m ! La route descend toujours&#8230; Mais au d\u00e9tour d&rsquo;un virage, appara\u00eet, tout en bas, une vall\u00e9e verte donc de la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation, donc des cultures, donc de l&rsquo;eau. Quel contraste ! Nous longeons ensuite les cultures et gagnons le village de Poconchile. Il y a beaucoup d&rsquo;\u00e9levage de volailles hors sol. Elle est situ\u00e9e dans le d\u00e9sert d&rsquo;Atacama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historiquement dans la zone d&rsquo;influence de la&nbsp;civilisation Tiwanaku, Arica avait une forte \u00e9conomie agro-maritime. Par la suite, la r\u00e9gion fut domin\u00e9e par l&rsquo;Empire Inca&nbsp;puis&nbsp;conquise par les Espagnols&nbsp;en&nbsp;1572&nbsp;et rattach\u00e9e \u00e0 leur&nbsp;vice-royaut\u00e9 du P\u00e9rou. Arica fut&nbsp;p\u00e9ruvienne&nbsp;de l&rsquo;ind\u00e9pendance (1824) jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0&nbsp;1885.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pr\u00e8s de la ville se trouve la vall\u00e9e d\u2019Azapa, une&nbsp;oasis&nbsp;o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on cultive des l\u00e9gumes et les olives&nbsp;d\u2019Azapa. \u00c9conomiquement, c\u2019est un port important, tandis que son climat doux et tr\u00e8s sec ainsi que ses plages ont fait d\u2019Arica une destination touristique populaire. C\u2019est \u00e9galement un centre ferroviaire de communications avec la&nbsp;Bolivie.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous nous sommes paus\u00e9s trois jours \u00e0 Arica. Apr\u00e8s plusieurs semaines en altitude avec des temp\u00e9ratures bien basses, nous appr\u00e9cions la douceur du climat m\u00eame si le ciel est souvent couvert. Son sommet offre de belles vues sur la ville !<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-luminous-vivid-amber-to-luminous-vivid-orange-gradient-background has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Morro de Arica \u00e9tait le dernier rempart de d\u00e9fense des troupes p\u00e9ruviennes qui occupaient la ville pendant la&nbsp;guerre du Pacifique&nbsp;(1879-1884).&nbsp;Morro de Arica a \u00e9t\u00e9&nbsp;attaqu\u00e9 et captur\u00e9&nbsp;le 7 juin 1880 par les troupes chiliennes dans la derni\u00e8re partie de la campagne de&nbsp;Tacna&nbsp;et Arica.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La&nbsp;guerre du Pacifique&nbsp; est un conflit arm\u00e9 qui opposa le&nbsp;Chili&nbsp;au&nbsp;P\u00e9rou&nbsp;et \u00e0 la&nbsp;Bolivie&nbsp;entre&nbsp;1879&nbsp;et&nbsp;1884. Cette guerre fit perdre \u00e0 la Bolivie son&nbsp;d\u00e9partement du Littoral, qui \u00e9tait son unique acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la mer. Le P\u00e9rou perdit la&nbsp;r\u00e9gion de Tarapac\u00e1. Depuis la fin de cette guerre, ces deux r\u00e9gions font partie du territoire chilien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Morro de Arica a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9clar\u00e9&nbsp;monument national&nbsp;le 6 octobre 1971.
